Hi.......So I will try to tell you about our trip from where I left off. I think I will put each day in a single post.
Our second day in Karmiel was really fun. We went to the post office again and Scott saw 2 of his other friends who worked with him 22 years ago!! They let us come right into the private part of the post office and visit!! It was a really nice reunion. We took a lot of pictures including the spot where he used to sort the mail.
Then we went to an organization called AKIM. They provide many services for children with autism including respite for the families. They had a Snoezelen room and the person who showed us around was SO nice. She explained everything in the room and showed us how everything works...........so neat and so relaxing and stimulating at the same time.
Then we went went back to the Rabbi's house to get our stuff and we called a person who use to babysit for Josh 22 years ago. We went over to visit her and she remembered us and soon as she saw us!! That was really a lot of fun ;-)
Then we took a bus to Tzfat and we managed to find our bed and breakfast down this little back street in the old section of the city. Then we went to meet someone who I have been emailing with who lives 2 doors away. She was REALLY nice and we became friends with them during the weekend.
Then we went for a walk to find the Shlomo Carlebach shul. We thought we were in the right place but we weren't sure so we called Josh to look on the internet. He said that we were in the right place and he gave us a contact name to see what time services were. When i called the person, I recognized the name of someone from Chicago. I asked if he was related to the person I know............and he said he was the brother!!! and to make the story more interesting........the person I know (the wife) was Josh's nursery school teacher in Chicago. What a small world!!
Well, he was able to contact someone who invited us for shabbat dinner.
that was all one day!
